Learn about invasive plants and how to replace them with environmentally friendly native plants at a Sept. 9 workshop at Wildwood Preserve Metropark.

The workshop will include a presentation and a short nature walk to explore landscape and habitats.

Attendees can will learn how to identify invasive plants, the benefits of native plants, and where to buy the plants needed to transform their own landscape, according to the Oak Openings Green Ribbon Initiative, which is sponsoring the event.

LaRae Sprow, the natural resources supervisor with Metroparks Toledo, will lead the 6 to 8 p.m. session in Metroparks Hall, 5100 West Central Ave., in Sylvania Township.
