Red Hot and Blue Rockabilly rocked for four days, from a Thursday-night concert at The Arts Hub to a Sunday late-afternoon cruise on the river that saw the sunsetting of Nathalie Lavergne’s home-grown music festival.

Bright colours, vintage cars, multiple talented bands, retro clothing and flowers in the hair are all signatures of Rockabilly.

“If you think of Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Wanda Jackson to name a few, the music is a mix of honky-tonk, rhythm and blues, country and rock. Whereas country can have sad heart-tugging themes, Rockabilly is like, it’s Saturday night, lets go out and paint the night red,” said Lavergne.

“Rockabilly has been my passion since 1993,” she said.
