MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Three women were arrested, accused of stealing over $90,000 from an 88-year-old woman with dementia.
An employee at Memphis City Employee Credit Union alerted police when she believed the woman was being taken advantage of, because her account was down $52,000 in just four months.
The credit union employee told police the account owner is an 88-year-old woman with dementia.
Sally Baggott has been the woman’s attorney-in-fact for several years, while Melissa Stewart and Jennifer McLemore are her caregivers who were supposed to bring toiletries and other items to the woman at the senior living center she was living at--meaning all three had access to the Memphis City Employee Credit Union account.
