MORGAN COUNTY, Colo — One person was killed and three others were injured when two small planes collided midair at an airport in northeastern Colorado on Sunday morning, the Morgan County Sheriff's Office said.
A Cessna 172 and an Extra Flugzeugbau EA300 collided while both pilots were attempting to land at the Fort Morgan Municipal Airport, according to Federal Aviation Administration. The Morgan County Sheriff's Office said the planes collided near the runway at Fort Morgan Municipal Airport at about 10:40 a.m.
"We know that one plane was on approach to the airport and was struck by the other plane," Morgan County Undersheriff Jon Horton said. "Very sad."
