SCRANTON, Pa. — Day four of La Festa Italiana kicked off at 11 a.m. Monday morning, with many on the hunt for pizza, pastries, and more.
But just a few hours before the crowds, dozens of vendors made their way to courthouse square in downtown Scranton to prepare for the final rush.
"People from New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Virginia, all over here at the 10th buying merchandise like it's crazy," said Debbie Meila, La Festa Parade Committee.
Debbie Meila was sorting through the merchandise that's become synonymous with La Festa. "We see what's, you know, what's trending and, you know, we, we plan all year round, get our transfers ready, pick our shirts," she said.
Serving roughly 150,000 people, Meila says the festival puts Scranton on the map as a place for people and vendors alike
