RICHMOND, Ind. (WDTN) -- Police believe more than 50 people were witness to a shooting this weekend, and they are urging those with information to come forward.

The Richmond Police Department responded to a shooting call around 3 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30. The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Richmond Flats Apartments in the 3000 block of Cart Road.

Upon arrival, police found a person with multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to a local hospital before being flown by medical helicopter to another hospital due to their condition.

Police say several buildings and vehicles were also hit by gunfire.

Richmond PD believe "well over 50 people" were in the area during the shooting, but no one has come forward with information.
