LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Thursday’s season opener felt like a home game for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. More than 65,000 fans traveled to Arrowhead Stadium and created a festive environment for the Huskers’ 20-17 win over Cincinnati.

This week, however, Nebraska gets a true home game with a 6:30pm match-up on Saturday inside Memorial Stadium.

“I can’t wait,” head coach Matt Rhule said. “I don’t know if there’s anything better that I’ve been a part of in my life than a night game at Memorial Stadium.”

Nebraska’s upcoming contest against Akron is sold out, marking the 404th consecutive sellout at Memorial Stadium. The Huskers opened as a 35-point favorite over the Zips.

“To be back at home is going to be amazing,” Rhule said. “I can’t wait for the light show.”
