10 Stark fire departments battle Nimishillen Twp. farm blaze

NIMISHILLEN TWP. − At least 10 fire departments have responded to a massive fire Sept. 1 at a dairy farm.

Smoke from the blaze, in the 7400 block of Schmucker Avenue NE, is visible as far away as the Belden Village Mall area and State Street in Alliance.

No injuries have been reported in the incident, which began in the early afternoon on Sept. 1.

Louisville Fire Department in on the scene with a ladder truck, and water is being pumped in from two large pools at the end of a driveway at the farm managed by the Skolosh Family. Multiple tanker trucks from surrounding communities have been seen going in and out of the area, and filling up the pools with water.

No one from the Skolosh family would comment in the late afternoon Sept. 1.
