BANGOR -- Mainers from all corners of our state are hoping to cash in on Powerball.

The jackpot is at an astounding $1.1 billion dollars. We found people who normally don't play the lottery purchasing a ticket or two at the Corner Store on Hammond Street in Bangor. We asked them what they would do if they won.

"I am going to buy my sister a winning Powerball ticket," said Sharon Dauphinee. "She wants the multi-millions to buy a home in Brooklin, Maine."

"I would definitely set my kids up. I know my son would be pretty happy with it," explained Matt Blethen. "Probably help my parents out, my mom back home in Alabama. I would definitely help out some of my friends and some in the community."

The Powerball numbers are drawn at 10:59 p.m. Eastern time every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday.
