A dad has been refused permission to move with his family to his childhood home.
Scott Alexander, 53, wanted to exchange his three-bedroom home in Erdington, Birmingham, for the council house with the same number of bedrooms in Falcon Lodge, Sutton Coldfield.
However his application, made after his mother Mary Alexander's death in May, has been rejected by Birmingham City Council.
The local authority stated the family of seven had "no overriding priority given the very limited stock" of council housing, the Mirror reports .
The dad-of-five has decided to challenge the ruling with his own appeal, stating: "We are desperate for help to get out."
