FLAT LICK, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Knox County woman was killed on Saturday after she was attacked by a pack of dogs.

The Knox County Sheriff's Department said the incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 in the Flat Lick community as 44-year-old Priscilla Jones was walking down Sandy Branch Road.

Jones was attacked and severely injured by dogs, which the sheriff's department said were "roaming the area."

According to authorities, someone who knew Jones heard her screaming for help and called 911.

Deputies noted that the East Knox Fire Department arrived to find her unable to communicate and with life-threatening injuries.

Officials said Jones was taken to Barbourville ARH Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
