HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - Over 1,000 protests were planned on Monday across the nation to celebrate workers. About 35 protester lined the sidewalks of Hastings, on Burlington Avenue to show their support.
Their message was simple: Workers over billionaires.
Passing cars honked their horns in support of the demonstration. The event was organized by Adams County Indivisible, a group focused on resisting the GOPs agenda and fighting for progressive policies.
“I think we haven’t seen the effects yet of a lot of the regulations and policies that have been made and they will be coming soon,” said Debby Thompson, Head of Adams County Indivisible.
Signs at the protest included, “Honk for Freedom and Immigrants,” “Democracy over Autocracy,” and “Tax the Rich”.
