BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) -- A man accused of vandalizing Greenwell Springs churches was booked into jail on Labor Day.

Jimmi Mouton Jr., 24, of Zachary, was charged with institutional vandalism after graffiti was found on two churches in the area.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office said Mouton is accused of writing phrases on Greenwell Springs Baptist Church and Indian Mound Baptist Church after midnight. Pastors of both churches gave investigators surveillance footage to use in their investigation.

According to an affidavit, words painted in black spray paint on the Greenwell Springs Baptist Church read: "SON OF GOD" and "GREEDY PEDOS!" The damage is estimated to be at least $500.
