LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - Cloudy skies didn’t stop Laredo residents from heading outdoors this Labor Day.

Families, friends and nature enthusiasts gathered at Lake Casa Blanca on Monday, September 1, to enjoy the holiday with fishing, cookouts and time together.

For many, it was a chance to step away from work and school and simply enjoy each other’s company.

“Usually we celebrate Labor Day to try to distract ourselves from school or from work or whatever else we’re going through and try to enjoy our time together,” said Arturo Arce, who spent the day with friends.
