OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - This year’s Labor Day parade was off to a rainy start, but some rain in the forecast didn’t slow down the festivities.

Hundreds gathered downtown to celebrate the holiday Monday morning. For many in attendance, the rain was no big deal.

“Ah, it’s not going to really stop anybody. People like to be a part of it. The Union is a great thing -- labor is a great movement. This is all showing the representation of that by people showing up,” said Jeremy Albert, a steamfitter foreman with Union 464.

Jeremy tells First Alert 6, the holiday means a lot to the metro.

“It’s just a gathering of people and a show of force in the labor movement, so that way we’re all banding together to show that we support labor. We want to be a part of labor and do good, safe things for Omaha,
