VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) —With a mostly dry summer and not much interference from hurricanes, it should have been a booming summer season at Virginia Beach’s Oveanfront. But did it show in our local hotels and restaurants?

"Labor Day weekend has been really good for us," Coastal Edge president Deepak Nachnani told 10 On Your Side Monday. "We've had great traffic, great weather [and] beautiful beach conditions, and that always makes for a fantastic guest experience."

But if you ask about the summer season as a whole, Oceanfront businesses owners aren't exaclty shouting from the rooftops.

"Overall summer, we'll probably end up being single digits ahead of last year, so I'm really pleased with that,” Nachnani said.
