DENVER (KDVR) — Folks representing the labor movement were out across the state on Labor Day, letting their voices be heard.

Many of the messages from Monday's protest at the state capitol were different, but most of them were directed at the federal administration.

"We shouldn't have to do this, but democracy is not a spectator sport, so that's why I'm here," said Gary from Englewood.

Hundreds came out to the state capitol on Labor Day. Gary and others said they came to stand up to billionaires by standing with working people.

"There's an underlying problem and the billionaires are supporting that: they keep getting richer and we keep getting poorer," Gary said.
