NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Officials in New Haven say several arrests have been made in a recent deadly shooting.

On August 17, 18-year-old Dillon Cornelius was shot and killed at around 2:52 a.m.

New Haven police say they had officers on bar detail at the time that heard the gunshots. The officers rushed to the scene on College Street between Crown and Chapel Streets.

Officers found Cornelius lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was transported to the hospital, where he later died.

On September 2nd, Mayor Justin Elicker and Police Chief Karl Jacobson will be giving an update to several recent incidents, including Cornelius’s homicide.

Police say that while the investigation into Cornelius’s shooting is not over, several arrests have been made.
