JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – ETSU football is turning the page quickly after its season-opening 45–17 win over Murray State. The Buccaneers’ attention is now on a matchup that’s been circled on their calendars since the schedule release, the Tennessee Volunteers.

Head coach Will Healy made it clear the mentality this week isn’t about pulling off an upset, but about improvement all-around.

“The messaging to me right now isn’t ‘Let’s go shock the world,’” Healy said. “The messaging to me is we’re still early in the week, where we’ve got plenty to fix from this past Saturday. How much better can this football team get from now until the end of November?”
