BOONE COUNTY, Ky. —

The second Boone County sheriff’s deputy who was hospitalized after a shooting last Thursday has been released from the hospital.

The deputies were called to the scene initially to serve an arrest warrant, before the suspect opened fire.

One of the officers was shot in the chest and the other was shot in the leg, with both rushed to the hospital. The other officer who was shot was released from the hospital on Friday.

Investigators said the suspect fired "multiple rounds" at deputies and they don't believe the deputies fired back.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said the deputies were wearing bulletproof vests when the shooting occurred
