LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - More than six years have passed since Tyrese Garvin, a father to newborn twins, was shot and killed on his way home from holding his babies.
The three men charged with his murder, Cedell Richardson Jr., Clifton Jones Jr., and Dashawn Garrison, were all under the age of 18 but charged as adults.
“They’re so angry,” Game Changers Executive Director Christopher 2X said just days after Garvin was shot. “They feel if you might be from this neighborhood, might as well just do you like this.”
2X says Louisville’s struggle with gun violence today has the same root cause.
“Sometimes they don’t understand the magnitude of the consequences behind it,” he said. “That is kind of across the board, from families becoming victims and survivors, and equally, their own families
