DENVER (KDVR) — Nearly 50 people took part in a rescue operation at Devil's Head on Sunday afternoon, a spokesperson from Douglas County Search and Rescue told FOX31.

A man fell while climbing in the area.

Several agencies responded, including: • Douglas County Search and Rescue • Larkspur Fire Protection District • Jackson 105 Fire Protection District

For those who aren't familiar with rescue terminology — a complex, multi-step rescue was required to first reach the fallen climber, with rescue teams having to ascend to the area where he was located and then slowly levering him down a steep, rocky surface.

The rescue team described the rescue happening in this order: • A two-pitch, high-angle rescue to get to him and then get him down • A complex exposed carry • Shorter pit
