ESSEX, Vt. (WCAX) - The reason why the proposed Amazon distribution facility in Essex was shot down has been released.

The application for the 107,000-square-foot facility on 23 acres, located near Saxon Hill Road, was rejected in July. The application generated hours of public comment, with many dismayed by the project. Ultimately, the development review board voted down the project 4-2.

In a letter released on Monday, they wrote: “The Applicant in this matter has failed to meet its burden by providing incomplete, contradictory, and unreliable information on critical traffic issues.”
