Former Republican strategist Stuart Stevens believes Democrats should hang President Donald Trump's Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem around the GOP's necks — and he has an idea how they could do it.
Stevens, who long ago abandoned the GOP over Trump and has urged a fighting stance against his agenda, weighed in on the subject on X in response to a clip of Noem claiming, with no evidence, that "I do know that LA wouldn't be standing today if President Trump hadn't taken action" and deployed federal troops to the city in response to anti-deportation protests.
"This is funny until you think this is the idiot that Republicans entrusted in a key position to protect America," wrote Stevens.
"When I was a Republican operative, we loved to label Dems as unpatriotic," Stevens continued. "Which is what Dems should do. No Republican who voted to confirm this willfully ignorant fool can call themselves a patriot."
This comes as Noem, who has been a key enforcer of Trump's mass deportation schemes, has found her way into relentless mockery in pop culture, most notably with an entire "South Park" episode devoted to tearing apart everything from her politics to her obsession with dressing like a soldier to the fact that she shot a puppy.
She has also been on the front lines of the Trump administration's effort to make an example of Salvadoran migrant Kilmar Abrego Garcia after his erroneous deportation caused nationwide controversy, prompting Abrego to file for a gag order against her.
