The Powerball jackpot has surged to an estimated $1.1 billion, the fifth largest in the game's history, according to a news release from the Multi-State Lottery Association. The cash option? A staggering $498.4 million before taxes

The agency says the odds of hitting the jackpot are one in 292.2 million, but that hasn’t stopped people from dreaming big.
