For the last two seasons, success hasn't come easily for Sylvan Hills football. Last Thursday, in their first game against Maumelle, the Bears finally broke through.
A back-and-forth game filled with exciting offensive plays and struggling defenses, Maumelle scored a late touchdown with 5.4 seconds left to trail 55-54.
Instead of kicking the extra point, the Hornets elected to go for the win. Senior running back Bubba Johnson took the handoff, running five yards for the two-point conversion.
However, just as Johnson was reaching the goal line, the Bears' senior defensive end Jaiden Noble punched the ball out.
