SALT LAKE CITY — A man previously convicted of at least two felonies, one of which was at the federal level, is behind bars once again, accused of gun and domestic violence-related crimes.

Juan Lorenzo Bernal, 47, was arrested by the Salt Lake City Police Department early Sunday morning, following a report of a burglary at a residence, according to a booking affidavit.

The affidavit states that officers arrived at a house belonging to Bernal’s ex-girlfriend, who told officers that Bernal forced her to drive him to an unspecified location.

When Bernal’s ex-girlfriend returned to pick him up, Bernal was accused of walking towards her vehicle and shooting at her near a public park that was “occupied by a large number of people,” according to the affidavit.
