WARREN — A few hundred people came to Courthouse Square Monday to protest President Donald Trump’s policies and what they say is his favoritism toward the wealthy over the working class.
The theme of the Labor Day protest event in Warren was “Workers Over Billionaires,” and was among more than 2,000 similar rallies held nationwide Monday.
“We’re standing up for democracy and people’s rights,” said Ashley Burnett of Cortland, who attended the Warren rally. “Many people’s rights are being threatened. It’s liberty and justice for all, not just the chosen few. I’m here to make sure our voices are heard. I’m standing up for those who are being affected by Trump’s policies and being pushed down.”
Joining Burnett at the protest was Sue Knepper of Cortland.
