A woman who attended a chance screening said she was left in 'shock' after it uncovered a life-threatening condition - despite having no symptoms at all.
When Joanne Murray, from Didsbury, received a letter through the door asking her to take part in medical research, she thought she'd take part.
Although she had no obvious issues with her health, she had been diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in 1997 at the age of just 29.
Following treatment at the world-renowned Christie cancer hospital she was given the all-clear.
But as most people who suffer from the devastating condition do not meet the current testing requirements for lung cancer, Joanne thought she'd take part in the 2022 pilot scheme to help improve the chance of early detection in survivors like herself.
