MOANALUA, Hawaii (Island News) -- The Honolulu Fire Department contained a brush fire in the Moanalua area that began from a downed power line on Saturday.

HFD were notified about the brush fire at 11:05 a.m. located on the Ala Aolani Trail. Six units were dispatched and the first unit arrived at the fire at 11:20 a.m.

A contractor worker saw a small brush fire start from a downed power line. The fire was approximately 100 feet by 100 feet.

Firefighters worked to get the fire under control and were able to contain it at 1:22 p.m. At this point, efforts were also turned over to the Division of Forestry and Wildlife to monitor for any hotspots or flare ups.

There were no injuries reported and there were no threats to any structures.
