ASHEVILLE - Asheville City Council member Kim Roney announced her bid on Sept. 1 to become the city's top elected official, entering the race alongside incumbent Esther Manheimer.
In a Labor Day social media post, Roney explained why she's running for mayor in a weekly video series she calls "Monday Minute." Her priorities include advancing affordability, climate, and neighborhood resiliency and public safety responses that "meet the serious issues in our community."
