Despite scoring a 38-24 win over Baylor , Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze left Waco disappointed in his team’s defensive effort.

The Tigers gave up 483 yards of total offense and 419 of them came through the air. Freeze mentioned fatigue as a possible reason for the issues and said he met with defensive coordinator DJ Durkin and strength and conditioning coach Dom Studzinski after the game to address it.

"It just seemed like we weren’t fresh and crisp," Freeze said. “When we get a fourth down stop to win the game there’s very little emotion or celebration. It’s almost like relief. I don’t know if we pushed too hard during the week."

Heat, emotion and Baylor’s fast start were all factors that Freeze said could’ve caused the fatigue, but he still wasn’t happy with how the defense played.
