COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL)-We ended August comfortable with temperatures below average but as we head into the first week of September, things will change and we'll be tracking heat.

Tuesday: Weak front across Mississippi will toss a few showers into western Alabama through midday, can't rule out a stray shower or two across east Alabama but most will still stay dry. Passing clouds and then sunshine for the afternoon with highs in the middle 80s.

Wednesday into the Weekend: We'll keep sunshine in the forecast through mid-week, a weak front will slide through by Thursday with a chance for a few isolated showers on Thursday. Temperatures will gradually warm up to seasonable by Thursday and despite the front on Thursday, a cool down is not expected behind it.
