A report issued by the U.S. Army details events leading up to a rollover that killed two soldiers and injured 15 others during a training exercise in 2023.

The military training vehicle (MTV) transporting 17 soldiers when it slid off an icy dirt road and rolled over in the Yukon Training Area near Salcha while the first snow of the season fell.

A Safety Accident Investigation report obtained by the News-Miner in a records request redacted the analysis, findings and recommendations.

The 11th Airborne Division denied the News-Miner’s request for an interview about the incident and the findings.

“After analyzing the human, materiel, and environmental data collected during the investigation, the Safety Investigation Board (SIB) concluded that [redacted] caused this mishap,” the report stat
