GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery has opened its 2025 fall season with a nod to downtown Grand Rapids.
The orchard’s annual 6.5-acre corn maze features the city’s iconic Alexander Calder sculpture, “La Grande Vitesse,” at its center.
Allan Robinette, the orchard’s operations manager, said the design honors the city for the role it has played in attracting visitors over the years.
“Robinette’s has been here 114 years, so a good chunk of the time Grand Rapids has existed as a city,” Robinette said. “One thing we’ve done is our scavenger hunt game that helps guide you through the maze. I’ve modeled that after Grand Rapids’ history, so each checkpoint gives you a different moment in the city’s history.”
Along with the maze, the orchard is offering its popular apple
