A man has appeared in court charged over an alleged sexual assault on an eight-year-old boy at a campsite near Loch Ness .

John Bell, 44, was in the dock at Inverness Sheriff Court on Tuesday following his arrest in connection of an incident at Loch Ness Bay campsite in July.

An investigation was launched by cops after an eight-year-old boy had allegedly been approached within his tent at the Loch Ness Bay campsite between 12.20am and 1am on Thursday, July 31.

Bell, from Grangemouth, was charged with the sexual assault of a young child. He made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due back in court within the next eight days.
