NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A weak front just south of the coast will continue to spark some showers over the Gulf today, with inland rain chances relatively low. However we will see a few showers pop up, especially on the south shore, through early afternoon.

By midweek, the front will finally push well south of the area, bringing in drier air and setting the stage for a warming trend. Expect highs to climb into the low to mid-90s late week, though humidity levels will stay in check, keeping heat index values below advisory criteria.
