NEW ORLEANS (WGNO)— The hit ABC show, "American Idol" is now in its 24th season, and producers are looking for the next Idol.

"American Idol" producers like Melissa Elfar are searching for the next superstar.

"First and foremost you must bring your talent. Just be yourself. That's what America connects with, being your authentic self. It is not about a story, it is about being genuine and showing up as who you are. That's what the producers connect, that's what the judges connect with and ultimately what America connects with," Senior Producer Melissa Elfar said.

Elfar has worked as a producer for "American Idol" for ten seasons.
