HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) - A Petersburg man has been charged with child solicitation after authorities say he tried to meet with someone he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

According to an affidavit, Jason Loveless, 44, began speaking to a Petersburg Police Department decoy on social media on August 26. Police say early in the conversation, Loveless was told that the decoy was 13-years-old and he reportedly said he could not do anything sexual with her or he could go to jail. However, authorities say Loveless later described how he would engage in sexual intercourse with her.

Loveless agreed to meet the decoy at a park on August 29. Authorities were able to locate Loveless in the park and bring him into custody without incident.
