A development proposal for the city-owned lot at the corner of S. Elm Street and West Gate City Boulevard would bring more than 100 new rental units and include space for a potential grocery store.
The Redevelopment Commission of Greensboro currently owns the 3-acre lot at 734 S. Elm Street, but the commission is considering plans from The Alexander Company.
On Aug. 28, Dave Vos, the development project manager for The Alexander Company, shared the firm’s plans for the site at a meeting with community members. A second informational meeting is scheduled for Aug. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Melvin Municipal Office Building.
