JACKSBORO, Tenn. (WVLT) - Several members of the Jacksboro Fire Department have filed a collective complaint against the city, claiming they were not paid for hours worked after the city switched to a 24-hour shift schedule for the department.

The complaint was filed on Aug. 29. In it, several members of the department, including an assistant chief, claim they worked too many hours in a pay period and were owed overtime pay, which they never received.

The complaint calls out a move from August of 2021 when the city’s mayor and board of aldermen approved a switch from eight-hour shifts to 24-hour shifts.
