KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Knoxville City Council met Tuesday night to discuss selling part of Chilhowee Park to Emerald Youth to build a sports and recreation facility.

During the meeting, council members voted to delay the matter by four weeks to offer more conversations with the public. This comes after it was delayed two weeks at the meeting on Aug. 19.

During the Aug. 19 meeting, some city council members said they first heard of this proposal only days before.

Since then, Knoxville Mayor Indya Kincannon spoke with WVLT News, saying in an interview that she hopes more community outreach will lead to more support for the sale.
