CLEVELAND, Ohio – As protesters across the country spent Labor Day weekend rallying against President Donald Trump’s threats to deploy the National Guard to U.S. cities, a new analysis of crime statistics in Northeast Ohio shows a more complicated reality than the president asserts.

In Chicago , thousands marched downtown chanting “No National Guard,” while rallies under the banner “Workers Over Billionaires” spread to more than 1,000 locations nationwide, including Cleveland .
