SOLON, Ohio -- Major upgrades at Solon Community Park are moving forward, as construction crews make progress on new facilities designed to turn the park into a central gathering space for the city.

A new maintenance building is being constructed just north of Sebastian’s Playground, which opened in April.

The pre-fabricated structure will house equipment, staff offices, a break room and storage.

Work is also under way on the entry pavilion, which will feature restrooms, tables and seating once complete.

The outdoor stage is taking form, with roof beams in place and footers set. Concrete for the stage pad will be poured soon, and the design includes storage rooms and a classroom on either side.

Fencing and lighting are being installed at the new pickleball courts.
