Smoke from vegetation fires is filling the sky in parts of California on Tuesday.

Some of the smoke from the Garnet Fire in Fresno County has been moving northward. There have also been new fires across the Valley in the Foothills that may have been sparked by lightning.

As of 9:30 a.m., a smoky haze was visible across the Sacramento area, where air quality was listed as moderate.

Air quality in parts of the Foothills was unhealthy for some sensitive groups.

Smoke from the Garnet Fire will continue to drift north on Tuesday evening, Meteorologist Kelly Curran said.
