The organizers of the Back Cove Music & Arts Festival are proposing to bring the event back to Portland for at least three more years and possibly six, while increasing payments to the city and its parks.
Festival promoters have presented a proposed agreement to the city, which is scheduled to be reviewed by the Portland Parks Commission at a meeting Thursday. The proposed agreement calls for the two-day summer music festival to be held at Payson Park for each of the next three years, with an option for the city and promoters to mutually agree on three more years after that. The inaugural event was held in the park Aug. 2 and 3.
