Jenkins Quality Barbecue is closing its three locations, the family-operated group of restaurants announced Sept. 2 on social media.

Jenkins, which has been in business since 1957, said on its Jenkins Quality Barbecue-Downtown Facebook page it will cease operations of all three of its restaurants at the close of business Sept. 30.

The post cited increased food and labor costs, changing consumer trends and supply chain issues as reasons for the closing.

“After 68 years of serving our Jacksonville community, we look back not with heaviness, but with our hearts brimming with gratitude,” the post read. “From all of us, we thank you. We appreciate your loyalty over the years, and we will miss you!”
