A majority of Hoosiers oppose the potential mid-decade redrawing of Indiana's nine congressional districts to more strongly favor Republican candidates, according to a recent statewide public opinion poll.

The Aug. 18-21 online survey of 1,662 registered Indiana voters by Change Research found 52% of respondents were against drawing new maps just four years after the current district boundaries were adopted , while 34% supported the unusual initiative aimed at preserving GOP control of the U.S. House championed by Republican President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance .
