Manchester United are understood to not be interested in pursuing further punishment against League Two Grimsby Town after they were fined for fielding an ineligible player in the Carabao Cup second round defeat last week.
Questions surrounding the potential replay of the fixture were asked when it was reported on Tuesday that Grimsby substitute Clarke Oduor had missed the deadline to be registered for the game by one minute. The midfielder arrived on loan from Bradford City on August 26, the day before the fixture.
Grimsby registered him at 12.01pm which meant he should not have been eligible to face Ruben Amorim's side. However, he was named on the bench, came on in the second half and missed a penalty in the shootout.
It is understood that the Mariners self-reported the infraction
