"Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale'' will hit movie theaters on Sept. 12, bringing to a close the story of the Crawley family as well as their paid staff, personal and social ups and downs, and their beloved estate.

Delaware had a front row seat to the smash British drama (2010-2015), created by Julian Fellowes, when the "Costumes of Downton Abbey" exhibit came to Winterthur in 2014-15. Guests got to see up close featured costumes from the Masterpiece series, as well as Winterthur artifacts that illuminated the lifestyles of aristocratic families of that time here and across the pond.
